Back in the Shed – January 5, 2025

It’s 2025. No big declarations here. 2024 was a fine year and I had plenty to be thankful for. I think for 2025 I’m just going to try to be more present with people and more conscious of my time. Maybe that leads to more blogposts…maybe not. Hopefully more drawing. I have a bunch of unfinished projects sitting here and I kind of just want to keep pushing on those.

“Little by little, one travels far” – someone at somepoint

Reads:

• The Bright Sword, Lev Grossman – The Round Table after the death of Arthur.
• Her Frankenstein, Kawashima Norizaku – Interesting horror manga about a mentally ill man from the 1980s. Sometime after writing this the author burned all his artwork, “never to be heard from again”.
• A Sand County Almanac, Aldo Leopold – got about half way through this and stalled when I went on vacation. Natural observations over a year on an old farm in Wisconsin in 1949.
• Somna, Becky Cloonan and Tula Lotay – Comic. gothic fantasy horror

• Shrinking [apple+] – comedy. Jason Segal project. Great little show about family and loss.
• Beast Games [prime] – Copy of squid games [the gameshow] but by youtuber, mister beast.
• Nosferatu – it’s on my to-do list.
